The USM Divestment Coalition for Palestine is a student-led, pro-liberation, anti-imperalist, anti-colonialist, anti-Zionist, coalition of undergraduate, graduate, alumni, staff, and faculty groups and individuals across the 12 University of Maryland System schools committed to organizing for the complete and total liberation of the Palestinian people, from the river to the sea. 

Our demands:

The USM needs to academically and economically boycott and divest from entities violating Palestinian's human rights

The USM currently invests in and partners with companies and institutions that enable the occupation and commit human rights violations against Palestinians. Through the University System of Maryland Foundation, the endowment funds flow to weapons manufacturers, surveillance technology firms, and academic institutions complicit in apartheid. We call on the USM to enforce its investment practices.

Dismantle and rebuild the university governance structure

We demand the dismantlement of the unelected, corporate-centered USM Board of Regents and for it to be replaced with an education-centered body that is governed by and for the students, faculty, and staff.
